Now,now, you know that John Denver wasn't singing about Colorado country roads --"West Virginia, mountain mama, etc."

I used to ride around the roads near Fruita, Colorado, which today is a major fat tire destination But back then, the farmers and cops just looked confused when I rode by in my bike pants. And I once got waterballooned by the local high school students.

The most interesting thing to me when I read about the Colorado flap was that the local law enforcement were thumbing their noses at a state Senator. I don't know about Colorado, but in California you don't do that.
